The goal of the game is to get rid of all your cards before your opponent. Read below for detailed instructions.
Speed is a fun, fast-paced game that requires two players and can be played in a matter of minutes. This is a favorite for people who don't have much time on their hands but still want to play a good old card game. The goal of the game is to get rid of all your cards before your opponent.
At the start of the game, each player is dealt 4 cards and two random cards are drawn and placed face up in the center of the playing area. At the beginning of each round, players must quickly place cards that they have in their hand down, which must be either one point higher than the card currently in play or one point lower.
In this particular version, you don't have to worry about drawing cards to keep your hand at 4 cards consistently because the game automatically does this for you. As cards come in, you must quickly decide what to put down where and in which order so that you can get rid of as many cards during a round as possible. Frequently you are going to run into cards that may allow you to get rid of a handful of cards quickly. An example of this would be if the center cards in play are, for example a 2 and a K. Let's say, in your current hand you have the following cards: 2, 3, 3, A. You could put down 3, 2, 3 on top of the 2 that's in play. Then, place the A on the K; getting rid of your entire hand.
When there are no moves available, two cards are drawn and placed on top of the current cards in play; which begins a new round.
